Post Natal Care undergoes several phases after pregnancy and childbirth; hence, postnatal care is suggested to help women recover from it faster; it helps address physical discomfort, helps with healing, and promotes overall well-being.

Postnatal care can serve as a helpful way to guide new mothers. It will help direct them with appropriate and necessary steps. They help the parents care for their newborns, their parenting techniques, and postpartum contraception. The first should be within 48-72 hours of the newborn infant's birth, and the second should be between 7-14 days, whereas the third, fourth, and fifth at the six weeks of postpartum care. 

 

  • There would be a pelvic examination test of the mother/person who has undergone the delivery phase.
  • It helps with the general and overall growth of the newborn child.
  • It will also be helpful in the recovery process after the postpartum period.
  • The physician will direct you with birth control and family planning options during the postnatal period.
  • It will also be helpful as a guide for breastfeeding purposes.
  • They will also guide you with the complications occurring after childbirth.
  • It helps with the screening for postpartum depression.

  • Discussion of breastfeeding and care is also an important thing to discuss during postnatal care.
  • Sexual intercourse is also necessary to discuss to have healthy sexual health. Your physician will also discuss your strengthen health to prevent the use of HIV infections etc.
  • They will also counsel you with birth spacing to avoid perineal wounds.
  • The need for personal hygiene is also necessary for women during postnatal care. Hand washing is also necessary for preventing infections and not inserting anything into the vagina.
  • During the treatment, your physician will also provide signs of danger in both women and babies.
  • Maternal care is also provided with healthy eating and enriching women with good nutrition.
  • Treatment of bleeding in women and also restoring blood loss. Proper guidance is required for immediate care.
